Over the last year we have been working with growers across Durham and with the University on increasing the range of botanicals we grow locally.  Durham has the largest juniper wood in the UK, but there is a soil bourne pathogen which limits our ability to use it in our Gin. We have a small stock which we are growing, but we have struggled to grow it successfully.  We hope to announce something exciting with Durham University shortly.  In the meantime we have some other cuttings with their first Juniper berries, which we are very excited about. We also got our first delivery of local dried elderflowers for the year, picked just outside of Meadowfield! We have been experimenting with different drying processes to get the right consistency to use in the Gin basket....
