All of these cocktails are on the strong side - when you work in a distillery you like to taste the spirit - don’t be ashamed to add slightly less alcohol to taste!! Why not try a cocktail class in our underground bar?

  • Lonsdale

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Gin, Tea spoon of honey, Handful of fresh basil leaves, 75ml apple juice

    Instructions:

    Put all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice. Shake well, strain into a coupe glass, garnish with sprig of basil.
  • Elderflower Collins

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Gin, 50ml lemon juice, Splash of sugar syrup or raw honey to taste, 75ml sparkling Elderflower 

    Instructions:

    Muddle together in a high ball glasses, with plenty of ice.
  • Bramble

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Gin, 20ml creme de Mure, 25ml lemon juice, Splash of sugar syrup or raw honey to taste

    Instructions:

    Mix well in cocktail shaker with plenty of ice. Strain into a Whisky tumbler, serve with ice and a garnish of fresh blackberries.
  • French 75

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Gin, 25ml lemon juice, Splash of sugar syrup or raw honey to taste

    Instructions:

    Mix together and pour into a champagne flute, top up with champagne or sparkling wine.
  • Negroni

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    Equal parts: Durham Gin, Apperol, Sweet Vermouth, preferably Spanish

    Instructions:

    Muddle together, serve in a whisky tumbler over ice, garnish with a twist of orange.
  • Martini

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Gin, 10ml Dry Vermouth, preferably Noilly Prat

    Instructions:

    Shake the Gin and Vermouth together in a cocktail shaker, strain into a Martini glasses. Garnish with a twist of lemon or an olive. If you like your Martini dryer add less Vermouth. If you like your Martini very dry wipe the rim of the Martini Glass with Vermouth and fill with very cold Gin shaken in a cocktail shaker with ice.

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Gin, Splash of elderflower cordial, Juice of a Lemon, Sprig of mint, Apple juice

    Instructions:

    Muddle the gin, elderflower, lemon and mint in a high ball glass. Add ice, and top up with apple juice. Garnish with cucumber.
  • Dog Sled

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Gin, 25ml Birch Liqueur, 50ml grapefruit juice

    Instructions:

    Wet the rim of a high ball glass and coat with salt. Mix together the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and mix well. Fill the glass half with ice, strain in the liquid.
  • Mango Mohito

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Mango Gin, Juice of 2 limes, Sprig of Fresh Mint, Brown Sugar

    Instructions:

    Muddle together the ingredients in a high ball glass to lightly bruise the mint. Add plenty of ice, top up with club soda and a sprig of mint.
  • Mango Basil Smash

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Mango Gin, Bunch of basil leaves, Splash of sugar syrup or raw honey to taste, Juice of a lemon

    Instructions:

    Add the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice and shake well. Strain into an ice filled Whisky tumbler, serve with plenty of ice and a spring of basil.
  • Raspberry Cosmo

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Vodka, Handful of defrosted frozen raspberries, 25ml Contreau, Juice of a lemon

    Instructions:

    Shake ingredients together in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into highball glass with plenty of ice. Garnish with raspberries.
  • Vegan “Russian”

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Vodka, 25ml cold coffee  - allow the coffee to cool, and add brown sugar to taste, 25ml plant based vegan cream

    Instructions:

    Mix the ingredients together in a Whisky glass, serve over ice.
  • Watermelon cooler

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Vodka, 2 big slices watermelon, rind and seeds removed

    Instructions:

    Add the ingredients into a blender until smooth. Pour into a high ball glass with plenty of ice. Garnish with black pepper. You can make the same recipe with a cucumber, skinned and seeded.
  • Cask and Stormy

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Cask Aged Gin, 100ml Ginger Beer, Juice of a lime

    Instructions:

    Muddle together all the ingredients in a high ball glass with plenty of ice, garnish with a wedge of lime.
  • Manhatten

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Cask Aged Gin, 25ml Sweet Vermouth preferably Spanish, Dash of bitters

    Instructions:

    Muddle together in a Whisky tumbler over ice.
  • Cask Sidecar

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Cask Aged Gin, Splash of Maple Syrup, Juice of 2 lemons

    Instructions:

    Wet the rim of a whisky tumbler and frost with brown sugar. Mix together the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake will with plenty of ice. Strain into the tumbler and add more ice. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
  • Cask and Tonic

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Cask Aged Gin, Splash of old fashioned bitters, 125ml Tonic Water

    Instructions:

    Rinse a copa glass with the old fashioned bitters. Add the Cask Aged Gin, plenty of ice and a big segment of orange. Top up with Tonic.
  • Sloe and lemonade

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Sloe Gin, Juice of a Lemon, 100ml old fashioned cloudy
    lemonade

    Instructions:

    Mix together in high ball glass with plenty of ice, garnish with some a slice of lemon.
  • Sloegroni

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    Equal parts Durham Sloe Gin, Apperol and Sweet Vermouth.

    Instructions:

    Muddle together in a Whisky tumbler with ice, garnish with a slice of orange.
  • Sloe 75

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    25ml Durham Sloe Gin, Frozen Blackberries, Champagne or Sparkling Wine

    Instructions:

    Pour the Sloe gin into a champagne flute, and add the frozen blackberries. Top up with Champagne or sparkling wine.
  • Sloe with no name

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Sloe Gin, Splash of Creme de Mur, 100ml Apple Juice

    Instructions:

    Mix the ingredients together with plenty of ice in a high ball glass, garnish with a blackberry. We don’t really have a name for it, so you can give it your own name and pretend you invented it!!
  • Gin Rickey

    How it's made

    Ingredients:

    50ml Durham Gin, Juice of 2 limes, Club Soda

    Instructions:

    Mix together the gin and lime juice in a highball glass, add plenty of ice and top up with club soda. Garnish with lime wedge.
